    Depends what you want from the land really. To own the land is a lot of responsibility, but if you're able to have chooks, veggies etc and move more towards self-sustainability, that'd be great! but that's a huge committment (as Punks said).

    If you're wanting to hang with friends and do the cafe scene, then city.

    But remember, if you move to the bush, and there is bush, you need to consider contingency planning for bushfire, flood etc (not that you don't do that in the city, but there's more support in the city). Is mains power and mains water available, or would it be gensets & tank water with a septic? Personally I wouldn't mind the latter, but other people would.

    Also is there telephone service, both mobile and landline? Is it an STD call to your families? Is broadband (or dialup!) available?

    Just some stuff to consider
