hi, well its been over 6 mths since my cs, got af back around 3 mths after birth, since then though, whenever i am about to get af, my scar really hurts, feels hot and tight and painful to touch. it also seems more red then usual.
am going to speak to the gp about it on monday, but just wondering if its just me, or has anyone else had this too?
TIA.

I don't have kids, so don't have the same experience, just wanted to say I think it could be considered a normal reaction. I mean, if you think about the trauma to the area, it's all linked, and AF cramps and the uterus contracting to expel the unnecessary lining, which could irritate the muscles which were cut during your C-section, leading your scar to be painful.
It could even be a little handy having a "barometer" of your body, like old timer's who predict the weather from the rheumatism!
But I'd also be checking it with a GP, 'coz I'm not one of them
I used to get pain and heat with DS1 but when i had the twins i had a different doctor who said that my first scar was a bit of a mess and that she would fix it for me. and for this time my scar is almost gone and no pain.
but maybe you just need to help your scar mend maybe try to use some bio oil.
i know people who still have a little pain after a couple of years, 6 months isn't long to recover after major surgery.
Thanks for your replies meo and kristy j, yeah I wouldnt be surprised if it is a bit of a mess in there, I had an infection afterwrds (cleared up with abs) also had an incident in the elevator (when it broke down and came to a very hard and painful for me, stop) when I was leaving the hospital!
and yes it can be usefull to know right when af is coming, mind u, I always forget and just start worrying that something else is going wrong!
