    Bleeding after C/S

    Hey everyone.

    Just wondering....

Had a C/S 7 weeks ago and I'm still bleeding. Getting to the point that its annoying.

It wasn't heavy for the first 3 weeks and then it when through a heavy patch.
And then I'd stop for a day or 2 and then I'd start bleeding again.

    Getting frustrated!

Have you had your post birth checkup yet? Bleeding longer than 6weeks should be checked out I'm pretty sure.
    hope it stops soon.

It really depends how heavy it is and how red it is. I have had two c/s's and with both (one emergency and one scheduled) I bled the same amount of time and I bled for ages. But towards the 6-7 weeks mark it was very very light and brownish.

C-sections have the same amount of bleeding as natural delivery... and it can certainly be on and off over time.. I'm not sure how long overall it can go for though so definitely worth the chat with your OB/midwife/MCH nurse/GP.. whoever you're most comfortable asking.

I bled till about 81/2 weeks and my OB was not concerned unless it was still bright red and flowing, i was just spotting. get it checked out if you are not comfortable

    best wishes
