At the hospital I work in, people having spinals with no sedation are allowed to keep dentures and partial dentures in. If it becomes an emergency and they need to put an airway in, they either work with the dentures in or rip them out. Some anethetists prefer to keep them in anyway due to the jaw support it provides.
Nail polish is a no no because it blocks the light on the probe we put on the finger to measure how much oxygen is in your body. Red is the worst offending colour. Most hospitals allow pale or clear polish but remove it all just in case.
Jewelry is a no no for infection control reasons. However, wedding rings and earings can be taped. Other body piercing depends on the location of the piercing Vs the location of the surgery.
If in doubt, contact the anethetist who will be caring for you and ask their receptionist...
