C/Section Timing

Just wondering how far along do they normally perform a C/section? Just curious. I am not worried about being due Christmas day, but they seem to do them so early.

If it is an "elective csec" for reasons like breech, etc they usually do them at about 38 weeks, so if dangerous for mum and bub to go any other way, that labour shouldnt start. They also work it in with their schedules too, ( believe me the only way to get a csec on xmas day would be an emergency one!!!)

I was booked in for an elective c/section at nearly 39 weeks they like to wait closer to 39 weeks.

If it's an elective one, it's usually 38 - 39w.
