    Caesarean question

Hi guys, I'm pregnant with my 3rd and I've had c/s for both previous children (one emergency the other elective) and I'll have another c/s for this one but I was wondering if anyone has had more than 3 c/s? I doubt I'll have anymore babies after the 3rd but I just don't like the thought that my choice would be taken way because of this.
    Thanks for listening

    Hi Tiff,

I have had 3 c-sections and was told after the last one no more but a lot of that is for medical reasons as i have had pre-eclampsia twice and Eleanor stopped growing in the womb at 36wks.

I know others have gone on to have more than 3.

    thank's guys.

When I had my 2nd my ob asked if I wanted my tubes tied during the operation and I said no not because I wanted more children but more because I didn't want that choice to be made for me kwim? and now that i'm pregnant again for the 3rd time I'm so glad I didn't have my tubes tied even though it wasn't planned I'm so happy and excited it's a great surprise. I'm sure my ob will talk to me towards the end of the pregnancy about what he recomends reguarding more babies but atleast I know it's possible maybe lol

Do you want anymore children? The more caesar's you have the more risk there is for subsequent pregnancies. If you think you may like another child then it would be worth looking at a vaginal birth this time.

I have been told that after having 3 c-sections complications are more likely to occur but there is no limit (depends on the ob though).

    Thanks ladies,

SamanthaP - I'm not sure if I want anymore children after this one but I just really wanted to know my options.
I would love to have a natural birth I don't think anyone would choose a c/s unless it was absolutely nessesary but it's not an option for me.

    Hi Tiff

I am in the same situ re 1 emerg and 1 elective and am guessing a third c/s if we manage to conceive again. After my last c/s my ob told me i should be ok for 'a few more' - his words. I'm not sure if there are any hard and fast rules - more likely to be on how the individual has recovered and what scarring has gone on etc.
    Good luck with #3
