Five days post c/s and feeling unwell

    Hi ladies,

    I need some advice please...

I had a c/s on Monday night and came home yesterday. Bf'ing slowly being established and he's sleeping quite well.

I've been feeling pretty sick in the stomach this afternoon and like I'm too going to vomit. I don't want to eat anything as I'm too scared I'll just throw it back up. I've been a bit constipated but still been able to go...

I don't really know what to do... Try and eat? Drink more water?

    Any advice?

Try small snacks - crackers, flat lemonade or Gatorade/Powerade, toast etc.

Is your c-section scar/area feeling ok? Just to rule out that you don't have the start of an infection there.

Hope you feel better soon hun xx

Do you have any back pain? I ended up with a bladder infection after my second. I had vomiting and back pain.

Are you taking any meds for the pain hun? Because they could be making you feel sick. If you are make sure you take them on a full stomach as that may help.

it's not nice feeling sick especially when you want to enjoy your new little man.

I had a uterine infection after my second, and I was really quite sick - keep an eye on your temp, if you start running a fever go and see your gp

Check your temp if you have a theomometer. I'd be watching for signs of infection either from the c/s, uti, mastitis etc. it could be a number of things from a virus you picked up at hospital to a normal reaction to the birth.

Also keep tabs on your iron intake. My haemoglobin was tanked after I gave birth and I felt like crap for a while afterwards. Hope you pick up soon xx

Oh hun, I hope you're feeling better soon Keep your eye on your temp and if you're starting to feel worse, just call your doc or at least the midwives. I think I called the midwives at least 10 times after I came home with bub.....Big hugs xoxox

    Thanks everyone...

Have had a bit to eat and a fibre drink so will give it an hour or so and see how I'm feeling.

Feeding is still quite painful so I don't think that is helping either.

    Will keep you updated xo

So sorry you're feeling lousy E!! Not much help on the c/s front but if the feeding is giving you grief, maybe call the ABA? Try and solve a problem that you can do something about maybe?

Sorry to hear your not well.

I'm 10days post CS & I remember feeling unwell up until 2days ago due to low blood pressure & low iron. Maybe that could be it???

Hope you feel better really soon & feeding becomes easier.

Is it just in the afternoon? I was thinking the medication times might be causing it if you aren't taking pain killers after food? Also I found that in the early days BF and let down made me feel nauseous as well.

I would definitely see someone about it as it could be low iron which can be fixed with a supplement.
