help needed, its kind of urgent plz

hello girls, Iam once again v confused and worried.

since 24 DEC i have on off contractions kind of irregular.then lost a cervical plug and have bloody show since then.
My pain is getting worse Its like I can't even breath.can't sit or stand sleeping position make it worse.so you can imagine
past so many nights I am spending sitting on sofa, hardly get sleep of couple of hours.contractions get worse specially from evening till next morning they are so timely every after 15 minutes.sitting on sofa from so many night swelled my feet like balloon. so want to lie straight.

I went hospital yesterday because during my last appointment Surgeon said if pain is out of control we will deliver the baby early at 37 week.
yesterday Hubby took me to "NORTHERN HOSPITAL EPPING" ( on wheel chair walk for a second gives me stabbing pain even i cant sit on toilt seat ) its my second emergency visit, no one even bother to read my file they ask me from A to Z history which is so annoying when u are in worse pain.they done twice internal which makes me bleed and don't know why and how many times they want to do GB test, on my reminder said o its done already ok then their internal checks like pap smear added 45% more pain in my existing condition.i am given panadene fort which made me constipated from 5 days with no relief in pain.

Yesterdays doc was a disaster she said i know u are in pain but can't deliver ur baby at 37 week, baby goes straight to nursery born at 37 week. and if baby got complication I will not permit u another baby ( who the hell is she to permit still thinking) my first one born at 36 and second at 38!

again pain is just uncontrollabl, please help me what I do? can i ask them to do my c section Iam really worse pain my face tells the story. Iam so teary, contractions getting worse and worse.

please tell me what are my options in public hospital can I ask them to do it now i don't think Iam in a position to bear this pain, can't survive on panadene anymore.
    help help please.

Go to another hospital if possible. If you are having pains this bad they should do something to help. And at 37 weeks, your baby is actually at term and not classed as prem or early, so I don't know why they will say bub will end up in nursery as its highly unlikely.

    Hugs hun.

aww that is terrible that they left you in so much pain. Perhaps try going to Austin hospital today instead and get another doctor to look at you. Austin/Mercy are a great maternity hospital and hpoefully you will get someone to take your pain more serious.
i hope you get some relief soon

Call an ambulance. When you get to the hospital, demand to see the ob/midwives on duty now. Hell, threaten them with lodging a complaint if they won't act in a manner you are happy with.

Stand your ground and scream if need be. How strong is your DH (emotionally, not physically)? Will he advocate strongly for you? If not, get someone who will such as a friend or your parents.

    Good luck.

Please don't call an ambulance if you have another way of getting to hospital. Ambulances are for emergency situations and arriving in one will not make the midwives treat you any better. If anything they are more likely to be exasperated at you using an unnecessary ambulance.

I'm so sorry you are in pain. You cannot insist that a surgeon perform surgery on you however. Did they say to you that you were not dilating yet? It sounds to me from the information you have written that you are in the latent stage of labour and as birth is not imminent it is safer for your baby that you do not yet deliver. However they may be able to offer some more relief for you from the pain and if the pain cannot be relieved then they should be looking at a different plan of care.

My advice would be to go back and ask for a second opinion. Try not to let them send you home unless you are happy with their plan of care. Ensure they are aware that the pain relief you are having is not helping. What is your gestation now? It is true that the earlier the baby is born the more chance that they will have complications, but at the same time 37 weeks is considered term.

    thanks girls for prompt replies.

according to my LMP I am 37 weeks and 1 day and according to my Ultrasound Iam 38 weeks on this Wednesday. I feel so helpless when iam there in between those witches , Panadene made me so weak. even feel like Ihave lost my voice.

I called mercy they say u are not in our zone that is why i had to chose this disaster hospital as I live in roxburgh park. yesterdays doctor was a super witch her checks still making me cry and bleed .I don't think so for c section they have to check if my water are broken or I am dilated, they just do it according to weeks and don't even let the patient to go to labour. my Hubby is such a soft hearted guy he simply is unaware what to talk to the docs.He simply get worried when he sees me pain.

the another witchy witch midwife told me why don't u try some physiotherapy for pain relief ( I wonder who goes to physios fr labour pain? and this stage when i can't stand. i told to the witch doc look at my feet how swell they are she said oo not a new thing. try to lie down i said when i liedown i feel like knife is inserted down in my vagina and on my thighs.

i feels like if they don't offer me C section in a day or two I can't survive this pain.

though I wanted to go hospital right now but planning to tomorrow don't know who to pass this entire 24 hours.

When's your next appointment? Do they still do all obstetric appointments on Thursdays? Maybe wait it out until then (unless of course you go into actual labour!), and you can ask them to set your c/s date in stone. That way at least you'll have a definite end date. If you want someone to go with you, I'm right around the corner. I can give you my mobile number via PM if you want it

Thanks all girls and specially to Tenibear.

Yesterday Iam back to home with a brand new bub . On new years day my pains became unbearable.my legs swelled double the size even hands and thighs too.
rushed to emergency and then to ward thankfully the surgeon was available, i went and he checked me internally can't express u the pain his manly hand given me and his rough
internal exam went to tears like a child.I got v nice midwife too young lady was in tears too seeing me in agony.
I was 8cms dilated and with in 20 minutes was in theatre.
c section was the quickest and spine block was the most tasteful thing as i suddenly felt a relief from pain and contractions.

i was told my uterus got scar tissues from previous c section that was the cause of early labour and such a painful pregnancy and could have ruptured my uterus if i didn't arrive on time that day in hospital.

the wonderful thing about hospital now c section women get their private single rooms that is a luxury!isn't it, mid wives were young and wonderful, polite ladies ( my after op stay was the beautiful experience there, they were helping, understanding unlike sandringhams night duty midwives who can eat u raw)

so this was the beautiful end of the painful pregnancy.can't be happier for the northern hospitals post surgery treatment.

    Nim
