I haven't had a c section but I'm pretty sure 6 months to a year sounds about right. Your body needs time to heal (as much as you probably don't want to hear that) and do you want a VBAC? Or another c/section?
Although they say wait, id probably try after about 6/8 weeks after if I wanted to. You get to BD then, right? I know a lady who's fallen pregnant 8 weeks after her csec. And she had no complications during her pregnancy.
Have another chat to your doctor honey...
Hope you are going ok. I'm thinking of you xx

I think it depends on your choice of birth next time - and I mean, my sister was pregnant 3 months after losing her girl at 38 weeks, had her next daughter in the same month the next year. She was having a csection next time (as opposed to a vbac) so her doc said anything past the 6 weeks healing was good enough.
Big big hugs lovely xxxx
Ill be having another c section. We want to try asap tbh
Then go for it lovely... Just make sure that if dtd hurts, you stop straight away! If you feel you are ready, then wait the 6-8 weeks to heal and ttcit's all up to you and your dh.
Xx wishing you all the best with healing up and your ttc journey in the near future xx

I can't give you any advice, I've never had a c-sec... just wanted to wish you good luck, hun. xx
We started DTD about 6 weeks after my first c/s. I was pg with DD when DS was 10mths. A close friend was pg with her second at her 12 week check up. She had no complications.
So it is possible but maybe talk to your Dr again and let him know how you and your DH are feeling. Wish this was a journey you didnt need to take so soon xx
I DTD 10 days post c/s with #1 and 17 days post c/s with #2 (well #3 really, but yanno). I fell pg when DS1 was 5 months old, so there would have been about 16 months between c/s. Didn't have a blink from any of the doctors.
I guess it's really up to you. I know people who have had two c/s within 12 months of each other. Premmies, when they're second, are often less than 12 months between c/s.
I should add - congratulations on the birth of Hayley. She's beautiful. I'm so sorry she couldn't stay. I think of you often. Good luck with your next TTC journey and wishing you love, treasure and happiness. I'm sure Hayley will be looking over you always.
Ahurani I too wouldn't wait 6months if I wanted to ttc again. Especially seeing is its your first c/s. Maybe if it was no 3-4 c/s plus I would strongly recommend waiting longer for healing. Plenty of women have c/s 12months apart (give or take a month or so) without complication. I'll be praying when you do it happens for you quickly this time. Thinking of you, DP and your precious Hayley.
Hugs sweets...
If things are healing nicely then i dont see why you would need to wait 6mths to ttc.
Whenever you feel ready.
Xx
Sent from my iPhone so sorry for the spelling and punctuation!!
no advice just massivei truly wish you all the best with your journey and sincerely hope you get a happy ending xxxx
I've read in various places tht after a csection to wait 6 months, but you'd be best to talk to ur ob when u go back for your 4 week check.
He asked me what we were doing for contraception and i said nothing, whatever will be will be, and he was happy with that.
I had my 6 (7) week check up today and GP said that given i've had AF already that we're good to go whenever we want......kinda scary getting the green light!
There's so mch conflicting info, some places say not to wait, some say 2-3 cycles others say that it take 12 months to psycologically be ready for another baby (i'm assuming this is the professionals who've never lost a baby!)
The Cr4p part for u guys is u have to wait till your belly is healed properly, i hope u guys an try sooner than 6 months, i know that feeling of desperation to be pregnant again all to well.
Hugs hunny xxx
I know someone who was preg again 3 months post CS and had no probs.
Best of luck honey x
A, I totally understand your desire to ttc as soon as possible. I had a C/s and fell pregnant 6 months afterwards but we weren't trying straight away. When I saw the Ob for my 4 - 6 (can't remember) checkup he asked me if we had DTD and just said that lubricant is a good idea if we were planning to DTD earlyish because birth effects cm. He didn't say anything to me about waiting a certain amount of time or anything like that at all. I think go for it but obviously if it hurts stop.
I got pregnant 9 months after my c/section and had no problems. No-one told me that we couldn't or shouldn't before any amount of time. I have heard that it takes 2 years for your body to completely recover fully from a c/section, but I think that is how long it can take until you have regained all your strength properly. Are you having a six week check-up? Maybe ask when you go there ...
FWIW, I don't think having a c/section affects when your period would return - it doesn't prolong it or anything like that (well it hasn't for me).
I havent had a CS but i know after a loss the Drs tend to say 6months as they think you need the emotional recovery time too! Only you know how you feel and what you need. The closer you have another pregnancy there is an increased chance of rupture, but like Mel said, if you are going repeat CS then they may just want to do it at 37-38weeks so there is less pressure on your scar! GL TTC!
I fell again quickly after my losses and yes i was screwed in the head for most of the pregnancies but i still think i did the right thing TTC soon after. The waiting would have done my head in even more. Atleast TTC made me feel like we were working towards another baby even if i wasnt pregnant again... But everyone is so different!

My ob told me to wait 6 weeks and then we could go for it if we wanted to! She said she wouldn't allow a vbac attempt if the cs scar was less than 12 months old though.
Thinking of you often xx
