How swollen should scar be on day 7?

It's been a week since my c/s and I just took the sticky plaster off yesterday. All looked pretty good until today and it kind of looks and feels like I have a frankfurt under the stitching - the only way I could describe it LOL...
So as the title says, how much swelling is too much and how long should it last?
    Thanks...

dh and I are just trying to remember and we think it was around that size. If it gets red or hot and sorer then normal go bck and get it checked.. better to get it checked and get told all is fine then have an infection go untreated...

it does sound normal to me though

I had a similar thing with mine, they actually talked about a particular type of tissue that forms post-surgically (sorry can't remember the word for it) that feels like a long lump under the wound area but apparently it's perfectly normal, its a sign that the wound is healing, and it does go away eventually. However if you're worried by all means see your dr even just for peace of mind.

I had problems with my wound (infection wise) so I'm not a good person to ask about how long the healing took. I had fluid behind the wound, so I was really nervous about the lump (thinking it meant the infection was taking hold again) but the drs assured me it was a good sign of healing.

If your pain level starts to increase, if the wound starts to leak or smell bad, or gets hot and red, or if you start feeling unwell (fevers), see your dr straight away. I guess if it's been a significant change over the last couple of days it might be worth getting checked out too.

I'm sorry, but mine was neither red nor swollen after 7 days I can tell you that I did not have stiches, but they stapeled it closed. My dr took off the plaster and out the stapels after 6 days and tbh ... it was perfectly closed, no bumps or nothing ... one straight pinkish line.

For peace of mind ... I'll have it checked. Better safe than sorry!

ETA: 'Don't know if this will make a difference, but my c/s were a classic cut to the uterus, meaning vertically accros the uterus, not like "normal" c/s horizontal. Maybe if you were horizontally (is that a word ) cut, it could be that the scar tissue is more prominent ... I really don't know. But still, I would not think that scar tissue being swollen that size of a frankfuter is normal.

For my last c section it was swallen for a while. Might have had something to do with cutting along the old scar maybe.

thanks for your replies girls. I did end up in hospital and taken back to theatre to get drained and on IV antibiotics.
I still have the little sausage kind of thing happening down there today and there is not a great deal of pain, but so glad that the huge mass of gunk is gone.
Bubs isn't handling all the meds too well going through my milk. A small price to pay though, it could have been worse.
