I have no experience personally but I was shocked to hear that my best friend DTD after her C-section..................... In the HOSPITAL on day 6!!!!!! Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!
stoked...thats hilarious!!! and naughty and shocking!! but PMSL!!
we were told to wait 6 weeks, isnt there some risk of infection from your cervix still being dilated afterwards? (if you laboured??) same as having a bath and not using tampons etc...
we actually tried to DTD about 4-5 weeks, but I had to stop, I was sooo sore and dry and it was very owchie, I spoke to the OB at my 6 week check, who gave me ovestin cream to use, but I never did use it, as I was scared the hormones might interfere with breastfeeding.
Im pretty sure we tried again a week or two later with lots of lubricant, it was uncomfortable at first but then better than ever!!
I was told to wait until my lochia had stopped, and AFAIK it is the same for vaginal births for for CS. This is to avoid the risk of infection. Other than that there is no reason to wait for a GP check, you know your own body and if you feel ok then go for it.
