The 6 week rule comes from the fact that it takes approx 6 weeks for the stomach muscles to fully contract and return to their normal position - this is the reason you need to avoid anything beyond light exercise.

Once you feel comfortable, but personally I would wait a couple of weeks - remember your wound needs to heal and you have internal wounds as well as the external scar you can see.

Take things slow, and go easy on yourself... not quite 'starfish' but make sure you are not over exerting yourself - you will feel in it in the morning

Once your bleeding stops or not - personal choice! lol Depending on how long you bleed. I didn't bleed very long at all after my cs, but the discomfort lasted much much longer.

So anyway, go for your life if you feel ready, but go easy, no swinging from the rafters

I'd say when you feel ready. We went for it at about 5 weeks post-c/s because thats when my bleeding had finally stopped, but be aware that what feels ok right now might hurt later! Orgasm spasms and contractions aren't as much fun as normal when you are healing from a c/s. Ge gentle

If you're feeling ready, go for it! but gently

For us I think it was around the 4 week mark (after my CS).

i agree with "when you're ready, but take it easy" - we were about 4 weeks from memory, maybe a little before (we had a PP appt at 4 ish weeks due to some potential issues for DD after the birth, and we'd DTD before that one) - i agree the muscles may hurt again next day...

I honestly can't remember - maybe 6 weeks with DS because thats when we felt like it, not cos we were on a time line... ITMS?

Longer with DD1 because I had an infection, so it may have been 3 months afterwards with hers.

It was 10 days for me!

But we'd gone without during my pregnancy because I was sooooo scared of something happening - I know, I'm a fruit loop.

I think for us it was closer to 10-12 weeks because I was too sore before then, or too tired and therefore not in the mood. But if your body feels ready then you probably are. I just wouldn't if I was still bleeding because that would indicate my body is still healing.
MummaSue - I am glad that I was not the only one to have a dtd ban during pg too . First 12 weeks and last 4 weeks on Obss orders but inbetween just because I stressed about another m/c.
