I am in the same boat as you, my last son was 10lb 11oz and got stuck,(scans are not that accurate, I was told he would be 9lb so they were a little out !!) thankfuly they got him out but his shoulders etc were black and blue where they pulled him out... They were up on the bed, it was horrible... and would`nt like to go through it again.
I am due on Feb 9 and last Thursday my ob asked me to seriously think about a c/s this time, so we have decided to go ahead with the c/s. It is entirely up to you and whatever you decide Im sure it will be the right choice for you... All the best for the rest of your pg and birth.
Good luck with your decision, I`m having a c/sec this time which is my decision (OB is willing to let me go either way) but emotionally this is the best way for me as I suffered a lot of trauma both physically (4th degree tear which took 5 months to heal plus a severe PPH where I very nearly needed a hysterectomy) and mentally, it took a long time to heal.
A c/s my sound like an easier way for you given your baby was so big and I understand your hesitation at giving birth to such a big baby again but Im wondering if there are ways around avoiding a c/s at all.
would the doctors let you go over again knowing how big your bubs are? you should be able give your last child's size be able to ask to be induced earlier for a natural birth.
Did the docs find reason behind your last babies large size? was it medical at all?
In all honesty having had c/s' with my lot, I found my last one was my hardest..not just for the op but in not being able to fully function for my other children, especially my youngest who didnt realise to hug mummy aroudn the tumy hurt like hell. I felt utter useless not being able to even drive to the shop to get a loaf of bread for them.
Please..please see if you can find an alternative way
