    Generally speaking the policy of most hospitals is one support person for a c/section. However, you can (and I know people who have) negotiate beforehand for their doula/additional support person to go in as well.

    Usually this will be entirely at the discretion of the OB and the anaesthesist. You are definitely best to have it sorted out beforehand though - don't rock up on the day with doula in tow because likely answer will be no if you spring it on them.

    Even if your doula can't come into theatre with you, she can still stay with you before you go in and you might be able to have her waiting in recovery where she can help you breastfeed (if you're planning to do that).
