when would be a safe time ttc after 2 c/s

    hey ladies!

well I havn't been around in ages, now I have a 3 1/2 year old and my bubs 7 months old now and crawling!

Just a question for all the ladies who have had c section multiple births.. I am heaps better now pretty much all healed I go to gym and go running all the time now doesn't affect my tummy at all, so just wondering I need some thoughts... I had a 10 pound 2 ounzes bub the 1st time around this time my little boy was 10 pound 13 ounzes, and I am certain if I have another baby my next will be bigger, How long is safe to wait before conceiving the next one especially with such big bubs? And whats the limit on c sections is it 3 or 4?

I have been so clucky again I am ready for another one now but not sure if my body is ready only 7 months out of a c section and all, and I have been feeling a little peeved and angry with the whole world cause I cant have as many babies as I wanted cause I have had c sections it really depresses me sometimes and I end up spending the day crying cause Im ready now and because of stupid c sections I dont know if I can have another now, but then again c sections if I didnt have em, would of been a very dangerous birth from their 40 cm heads!

    any advice on my situation?

    thanks in advance!

Hi Danielle, just had a quick look on google and most say at least a year but there were some who`s Dr told them 5-6 months after.. however some did report that they had pain around the scar site and a burning feeling.. Maybe ask your Dr`s advice but I assume since you sound very active and fit you should`nt have a problem.

Its nice to also chat to someone who has had a big baby too... My first son was a nice
8lb 13oz and my second was 10lb 11oz. I was booked in for a c/s but he decided to come before my op day and my Dr said "let her try" I was so scared but I managed to have him naturaly after a lot of manovering from the midwives. I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and have to have another scan in about a month to check on her size and decide from there what we do.

Anyway best of luck for the future.

I've had 2 CS and I waited till DS was 14 mths before falling PG this time (my babies were 7 1/2 pounders), so a 2 year gap btwn births. I was PG 8 mths after my first CS and had a gap of 17 1/2 mths btwn births. I would have had no hesitation in having a smaller gap this time but didn't fancy 3 kids under 3. 3 kids under 4 I can deal with as the oldest will be in kindy.

As for the number of CS, my ob said that the record is 11 CS for 1 lady . I don't really think there is a set limit, I'd say it would depend on your individual circumstances.

After my first c/sec I was told to just wait 6 weeks then we can TTC again, as to how many it just depends on your recovery, etc but I know lots who have had 4 c/secs.

The limit of 3 caesar's is only a recommendation! You can have as many as you want, just be aware when you fall pg that each caesar after 3 gets riskier and riskier, akin to having a VB (VBA3C or vaginal birth after 3 caesars).

Many womyn have gone and birthed large babies, larger than 10lb so I'm not of the belief that a baby will be too big for Mum to birth (unless there are complications that make baby overly large, ie. GD) and that the female body can do amazing things during pregnancy and labour.

I have a friend who has had 5 caesars (one set of twins) and know of plenty more, so it does happen.

I will be birthing my third baby after having 2 caesars, not just because I want more children either (my babies aren't that small either, 8lb and 9lb (the 8lb was 3 weeks early too) so I'm not expecting a small baby!

    Cheers,

    Beck
