2 door cars?

DH wants to get a mini.
I'm stuck on the 2 doors issue.
Does anyone have a car with only 2 doors? Is it a massive PITA getting children in and out?

I think they'd be a PITA if kids are in car seats, if they're able to get in and out and put seatbelts on themselves I don't see a problem.

But then I've never had a 2 door car

The boys are in boosters. Yasin can do his belt up and help Imran with his if he's having dramas.
Did I mention he wants the convertible? le sigh.......

DH's car is a 2 door and we have no real problems getting the kids in & out of their carseats when we use it. I find it a little more difficult ATM as there is a belly in the way. I think it would really suck to have rear facing car seats but boosters aren't a problem... but then again, it isn't our every day car.

I had a two door car for some of the time I was nannying. Didn't find it an issue at all - the door is much wider than in a small 4 door, so you actually get a lot of room to manoeuvre yourself around if you need to. But if the lads can get themselves sorted, then no biggie. Go for it.

A g/f of mine bought a mini when both her children were still in car seats - around 3 years ago now. She has never had an issue, in fact she loves her car (so do I!), and now that the kids are larger and in booster seats it is even easier as they can do up their own seatbelts. I think, like anything, they just got used to it.

A friend of mine kept her two door Lancer when she got pg, and kept it until her daughter was about 2. She had a few problems with the rear facing seat but figured it out pretty quick and was happy to hold on to it!
