    Citroen

    Anyone have one? Any model.

My friend is looking at one. She's a single mum borrowing the money from a family member & is terrified of making this decision

Its deisel & a good price from researching the net, but she's still worried about jumping in with an unknown make of car. She's asked a mechanic who thinks she should do it, but another friend reckons not too because his mother paid $900 to replace a windscreen in hers. It will be comprehensively insured, so windscreen coverage, but she's still not quite confident yet.

So anything you have to say about them would be much appreciated

I have a couple of friends who drive them, parts are more but very good cars from my experience. I would happily drive one if it was the right model for me.

I've driven a Citroen and enjoyed it however if your friend is on a limited income I would suggest that she gets a Japanese made car because parts and servicing will be much more affordable. European cars, even the non-luxury brands like Citroen and Peugeot, cost much more to maintain than Japanese made cars.

I second this. I had a European car and it was a money pit mine was only a Holden Vectra but cost as much as a luxury car (eg BMW) for parts etc. We switched to a Toyota and have never looked back!

She did look at a Camry. I don't think she'd buy anything else Japanese just because they don't have a great rep.
She's considering just getting a Commodore, but going from a Barina, that'd be a huge jump in petrol costs, as well as insurance.
