A friend has been overcharged for some work done on his car after agreeing to a quoted price, he left his car to be fixed but when he came to pick it up they told him he needs to pay nearly $4000 extra or they wont give him his car.
What can he do? He has offered to pay an extra $1000 ontop of the quoted price ($2500) but they said no way... they cant just keep his car surely. He isnt from town, he travelled here to pick it up and is now stuck with this problem.
Who should he go to? I think the poilce would offer some advice but I dont know if dept of fair trade is the way to go ....
hmmm any ideas how we can help ( its DH friend) and We are looking for a better approach than just going and taking it ... as we dont want any problems ourselves
