Actually the rear leg and head room of a VE is larger than a VZ. But yes, rear boot space is slighty less because of the sloping roof and tailgate, compared to the squareness of a VZ.
With front seats all the way back, a rearward facing seat didn't even come close to touching.
(not trying to sound superior or something to that effect, but I just cannot fault my car)
