If you own a car, you pay road taxes, ie registration.

Even then, the amount that goes to road maintenance and construction (in Qld) is approximately $11 per year. Barely enough to fill a pothole.

And misty, you actually also pay GST, I assume. Piddly amount of that goes to roads too.

Ok it was me who brought up the issue of the cyclists

I think it's fantastic people ride bikes, I really do, it's healthy, better for our environment blah blah blah.... BUT it's not fair when 'some' cyclists deliberately pull out in front of cars when they clearly have about 1mtre to move across to the side more and it's a pretty smooth road, no loose bitumen etc, and deliberately cause delays in traffic.... just because they think they have 'right of way' too... it's just not fair when car drivers want and are allowed to do 60km's but are forced to follow a cyclist up or down a winding road with double lanes the entire way so they can't cross them, and forced to travel at 40km or whatever, its just not fair.

Some cyclists are fine, but like car drivers, yes you get your crap one's that don't play FAIR.

Back on topic.. But also my car doesnt have much power so most of the time she doesnt even reach the spead limit before the next turn or it changes.
