    Legal qu- registration in vic

I recently made a mistake that is going to cost us dearly. There were reasons, but basically through oversight the registration was not paid by the due date on DHs car. Not realising that it was not paid, DH drove to work 2 days after the registration was due and was pulled over by the police and given a massive fine for driving an unregistered vehicle. Is there any way this may be appealled (that doesn't cot us more than the fine)?

Your best bet would probably be to ring Civic Compliance and discuss your options with them.

On the back of the ticket there should be instructions on how to appeal the infringement.
You can represent yourself at court.

I would contact them as Tinks has said hun and plead your case, if you've never missed a date before and can just put it down to an oversight they might be ok.... assuming it's been paid since just let them know it was paid as soon as you realised and your very sorry..... Hope it's all sorted hun

yep, it was paid before DH drove the car again.

i rang civic compliance but only get a computer, and it's hard to work out the info i need.

do you know what it costs, or what the risks are to represent in court?

i have found an application form for an internal review, maybe that's the one i want.
