We have just bought a 2006 Outback Swan. We are yet to take it out on its maiden trip but can't wait until we do, we are previous tent campers & looking forward to a little more comfort & luxury
We had a 2011 eagle outback - it was awesome! Took a bit to set up which DH found annoying and you can't get in properly once folded in so if we did it again we would look at a caravan but it really was great! We liked that it had 2 seating areas in our set up, one for eating then a U shaped lounge that could also be a bed.
We got the outback thinking we might go off road although realistically we always went to parks but also because DH felt they were sturdier.
We sold it to fund out seachange though Booo!

We have the golf bush challenger. It's basically the same set up as the jayco s. we love it. So easy for camping and sleeps up to 8 but 6 comfortably. Not that my boys sleep inside anymore. Sigh. They have all decided they want tents lol
Lol! I am currently at Fraser Island in our 2011 Jayco hawk outback.
We love it to bits and drag it all over the country side and up and down beaches all over qld and nth nsw.
We have just had 1 1/2 days of torrential rain and we have been snug as.
Love love love it.
The next one we get will be even more outback though, more like a trailer style one, cause we woul like to go a little lighter and more manoeuvre able than this, it can be a bit tricky in deep 4wd drive ruts at the wheel base is so wide.
However we are super happy with it and I even towed it up to rainbow beach behind my little hyundail ix35 2.4 petrol, and it towed great. Though we used the navara to tow it onto the island.
We bought one a couple of years ago. She was super old and had been bashed about but we paid pittance and wanted to make sure it was for us before we spent big bucks. We loved it. First trip was from Melb to Adelaide and I think we did 7-8 weekends, plus a second trip to SA. DD1 was 2 when we got it - when she turned 3, we asked what she wanted for her birthday and she asked to sleep in the caravan!
Unfortunately due to the age of it (early 70's Sunwagon) we found it harder to find people to repair it and we were having trouble with the roof going up and down so we bought an old but newer full caravan with just the pop-top roof bit (so full height caravan with extra pop-up roof space - Avondale model) and we sold the little one.
It opened up our world. We weren't able to go on holidays, simply couldn't afford it but this made it easy. We've had some fantastic trips (and a couple of shockers too!). It's something I haven't regretted for a second.
