    Thanks Peta,

Well I spoke to DH last night about the Pathfinder and I must say we are swinging back to this car, you do get so much more for your money and there is more boot room with the 3rd row seats up. We are going to be near another town for holidays I think we might go there and check them out and look at the Carseats, I will probably be using a capsule to begin with anyway so I'm sure I could squeeze them in.
Thanks again for posting, I'm looking foward to the DVD player, we live about 45km's from the nearest town so are forever doing long trips in the car.
Can I ask what colour do you have??? And do you find the diesel has plenty of up and go.

Megs, some diesels are lazy, and some are not. Aside from the driver, it can come down to just the basic tuning of the vehicle, and improving air flow, etc. Eg, our over-half-a-million-k's patrol is non-turbo (diesel), and trounces turbos, petrols, and even race built 4B's. Why? Cos of how its tuned and other bits and pieces (ie, better flowing air intake and exhaust). It's what we do for work, so if you want some help anywhere down the track, let me know.

Thanks for that Netix. The only diesels I've driven are the farm utes. At the moment DH as a Holden Rodeo and it is horrible has absolutely no go in it, you nearly bunny hop just getting into 2nd gear. Would hate to be doing that up the main st.

    Hi Megs
Totally agree with Netix. Its about how you drive them (& in turn how much fuel you want to use). My DH wants to get a chip on ours which will increase power & apparently reduce fuel consumption, so we just have to save up for that. In saying that, its not entirely a slug, but its certainly not going to win you many races! Of course we have the auto too, the manual may be (or seem) faster, not sure as I haven't driven one. Ours is White & decked with towbar, steel bullbar, tinted bonnet protector, side protectors, rust proofing & lifted suspension. One major advantage I forgot to mention is that the boot lifts up - rain, no problems loading or unloading the boot - you can hide under it! There are certainly plenty getting round up here & I know Nissan in Qld are doing ST-L manual diesels for $52990 drive away at the moment. This is pretty much the equivalent of our 2007 Ti.
    Have fun test driving!!

Divvy! We have a blue one too LOL I think it's called "tidal" blue... and yes, it's the same colour as Cookie Monster! Ours is either a 2009 0r 2010 model... we bought it virtually new but with hail damage on the bonnet (which saved us heaps). Apparently a new bonnet will only cost $800 even though the salesman knocked about $10K off the price. It's good to hear so many positive things about it. Everything you have said my DH has also said but i thought that he was just trying to convince me to have a drive. Personally i want a smaller car... a red mini Cooper... not much bigger than my Emmalunga pram... i reckon i could manage to drive that hehe
