We're looking into that conundrum for the next few years, as besides this one we're planning another (if we don't luck out with a 2 for 1). Been looking at things like the Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan X-Trail or possibly a Mazda CX-7 (pricey).

There are also cars like the Nissan Dualis+2 which has the bonus of having 7 seats, even if you don't use them all the time (they ninja the bootspace) but does give the flexibility to have kidlets + friends.

    Have fun looking

you wont get 3 car seats in an outlander unless is 7 seater and then you'll have zero boot space

Depends what space you need in the rear....

I've got a 2006 Commodore wagon, and am awaiting my new 2011 Sports wagon as its being built for me. Three car seats, yup as you know they fit perfectly.

Having recently upgraded our second small car to a Mazda 3 we toyed with the idea of a CX7 or CX9 as we love the Mazda 3, but space wise, in the rear, once we put a pusher in the rear of the CX7 or CX9 (and we've got a small Phil and Ted's with the double kit), baby and toddler 'back up supplies', add some grocery shopping in too - it was too cramped. Not to even mention trying to fit our beloved dogs who travel with us every now and then too.

So we are a 'wagon' family . And wagon wise, out on the market the only one we like was the good ole' Holden .

I have a Hyundai Santa fe 7 seater, the third row is folded down most of the time and folds in half so we can get the pram in if need be. It fits three in the middle, I have two safe and sounds and a booster, but also had a capsule.

I love the car, will be sad to see it go when it's swapped over as it's a company car. At this stage we are planning to swap for the newer model.

We had a Falcon which fitted 3 car seats in easily.
