Question Volvo V70 - built in booster seat?

So we are getting a new car...

A VOLVO!! pmsl Yes, it is true, a nice square Vovlo!
It is a beautiful car, albeit used and much older than we wanted to buy, but it has belonged to a self-confessed "tennis mum" and when they bought it new, got every option possible. The car is still in perfect condition, save the drivers seat leather upholstery that needs to be replaced. (It even has the ****ie seats in the boot!)

Anyway, they have a built in booster seat in the middle of the back seat...it folds out from the back rest of the middle seat. The guy said that is legal (or was when they bought it) to use it for kids 2 and up. Now, the seat itself has no sides etc, and personally, I wouldn't use it so young at all, but wouldn't have a problem with a 5 year old in it.
But I was wondering if anyone else has one? Do you use it? It is quite odd, I have never seen anything quite like it, our V40 didn't have one.

    Awesome! Volvos are fantastic cars.
The XC70 and XC90 have them on the side seats as well as the middle seat. What I've been told is that if the car has airbags (obviously being a Volvo they do have them lol) they are actually safer than the booster seat with sides because if the airbag hits the side of the booster the child in it gets banged against the booster but if the airbag hits the child it provides it with the protection that it is meant to.
The Dodge Journey has them too.
    They are a great innovation.
