Yes thats true. All baby bonus payments will be paid in a lump sum unless under extreme circumstances.

And your and your partners income must not exceed $75,000 in the first 6 months following the birth

I thought it was only fortnightly installments from the 1st Jan....sure I read a BG answer somewhere this week.
It's $75K in the 6 months after the babie's born, not the whole year.

    ditto to what's been said
it's just under $385 a fortnight for 13 fortnights and started for any baby born after Jan 1

it is also a situation where you have twelve months to claim, not just 26 weeks, as the income of the couple has to be under 75k for the six months immediately following babies birth

Thanks guys, but how are you meant to know the income for the future? DH could either get a bonus, or get sacked!! How can one know? If he's just on base wage, we are under. ALso would we still get our fortnightly payment that we're on now (A or B, not sure)? Thanks for the help. Bummer it's not lump sum...

FTB won't change - it's just hte baby bonus that has changed

they give you the option, if you're close to the 75k in 6 months threshold, to NOT claim the baby bonus until after that six months has passed and you know what the actual income is. if you claim and then DH gets a bonus and you go over, you'll have to pay it back
