Does anyone know anything about this? Please help.
We paid the rest of our fees at the local preschool today as it was DS1's last day for the year and the office lady said something about a Child care rebate that we're entitled to.
DP was the one who was told about this and he's a little sketchy with details most the time so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this Child care rebate.
She said she'll try and get the forms sent out next week. It's for the whole years worth of fees.
I'm still confused by it all. I didn't think we were entitled to anything but apparently it has something to do with the preschool being a private one?? I really don't know.
I guess I'll just wait for the form and fill it out and hope for the best. lol.
if the preschool is private and is actually registered with FAO as a child care centre rather than a preschool, you may be eligible for both CCB (rebate based on income estimate) and CCR (based on both you and your partner working/studying or training, or being on paid or unpaid mat leave)
the preschool, if registered, should be able to provide you either with a childcare provider number that you provide to FAO, or should be able to tell you they send the details themselves, in which case all you need to do is call FAO to become CCB (child care benefit) current and to update your work/study/training details
It may be worth seeing if it is registered care or approved. With registered care you are not entitled to the child care tax rebate and the max hourly rate that will be paid is .47c regardless of your estimate. However approved child care is based on your estimate and if you meet the work study training test will allow the rebate.
