Okay well I "think" I've worked it out but I would like someone with knowledge to conirm.
$600 in bonus is paid to recipients of either carers allowance or carers payment from 1st July. Each payment you receive (so if you get both allowance & payment you receive $600 x 2) attracts the payment.
On top of this is the disability supplement (not correct terminology) that attracts a $1000 payment for each of the payments of $600 received. So this would mean $3200 for each child?

to be honest, the wording of the CDAP (child disability assistance payment) on the net is ambiguous. i don't want to say yay on nay on your calculations. i don't think it is 3200 per child. i THINK it is 600 for each person you get CA for, 600 for being in receipt of CP, and 1000 for each child you receive CA for (so CP isn't involved there) which would, in your circumstances, make it 2200, not 3200. BUT, i can't confirm atm - i have emailed myself at work to check with a DSP consultant on Tuesday when i'm there. i don't want you budgeting on an amount and finding you get signficantly less
Purpose of payment
The Child Disability Assistance Payment is a $1000 annual payment made for a child with disability under 16 years who attracts a payment of Carer Allowance for their carer. The payment can be used to assist families purchase support, aids, therapies, or respite that they require for their child with disability. Importantly, the payment will help carers to purchase the form of assistance that best suits the needs of the family.
Carer Allowance is a supplementary payment to people who provide daily care and attention in a private home to a person with disability or severe medical conditions. Carer Allowance (child) is paid to a carer of a child under 16 years with a disability.
So the above is the CDAP. That seems fairly clear - it's paid for every child that you receive carers allowance for so I would only get that once.
But BG you think that you get a payment supplement of $1000 for carers payment & $600 for carers allowance. So that would mean a total of $1600 for that.
Can you tell me is it with your first payment in July?
on that bit that you've put in, it's saying you get the 1000 for only ONE of the payments (carer allowance) - there is no mention of carer payment at all
with the carer supplement, it would be 600 once for you getting carer allowance, and a second time for carer payment.
that would get you 1200 - so 2200 in total
i believe it is generated either before or with your first payment generated in july (so payments that arrive in your bank from July 5 onwards - any before that are generated in June)
Oh no I was hoping I would get it with my first payment in July (which is the 1st for me) as then I wouldn't be so tight to pay for the specialists etc she has to see the following Tuesday. What a bummer. When it said it will be paid from the 1st of July I was having a woo hoo...
generally the systems aren't updated until july 1 to generate those one off payments. you could check your payments through online services before then to see when it will be coming through though. you've received your last payment in June now, so you could have a look and see what it says...
