RR - as previously mentioned, it's more likely that it's just a normal review of circumstances. happens to singles, happens to couples - if you're on income support, they have to review your circumstances regularly to ensure you're not getting over paid or under paid. it's got nothing to do with how recently your baby was born. reviews are carried out at least once a year - and often twice a year. almost everyone i've dealt with that has gone onto payments (myself as a teen, my parents, brother when younger, friends) have had a review after that first 6-8 months - then at least annually after that - if there are earnings being reported it's often more regularly cos they get you to bring in payslips

some other things will trigger reviews automatically - withdrawal of csa claim from the paying parent (they check to confirm that you haven't reconciled), signing a tax declaration form through ATO (if you don't declare earnings within a month, you will be reviewed) - simple little things to make sure everything is correct on the system
