I just called CSA to find out how long it takes for them to get no payments before they start taking payments from ex's wages/employer. Well...
4 years ago we were seperated & I asked CSA to collect. Ex gave/loaned me some money towards christmas & something else. I can't remember now, but it was money from him to me & it was put in my account & told CSA it was child support. Well, half of it was, the rest was a loan at the time (though not paid back, coz we got back together later on.
I declared it thinking that if there was a random check of my bank account they'd see that & it might cause trouble.
Not long after that I said I'd collect privately, then we got back together. Apparently that money I told them about wasn't needed in the past 4 years & just sat there on their system.
So... 4 years later, after recieving nothing for 9 months of being seperated (and not a cent for 5 months before we seperated) I call to find out whats happening with the collection, only to be told that he is in CREDIT & that he won't have to start paying me again til about February next year! Right as my assessment goes up to over $100 a week, so my c'link payments will go down, yet I won't be getting any money to make up for it!
How is that fair? I know that if the payer is on a higher income than her/his assessment, s/he doesn't have to back pay when the assessment amount goes up, so why is this happening to me? That was 4 damn years ago! He hasn't paid me a cent in over 9 months of being seperated. But they'll only back pay me for 3 months of that.
Feeling pretty ripped off & screwed over right now, & I did it to myself I'm only just managing on what I'm getting from c'link now, I can't afford to lose more money
