This is a vent! No the people IN centrelink aren't morons, just the one who did this (or the computer)
I just went to change my license info all over to WA. To find out my license is suspended in NSW. I couldn't work out why, but figured I over looked something.
Just got off the phone to SDRO. Centrelink stopped my installments to them back in February. No reason, I certainly didn't cancel them! No letter to let me know either (THEY have my address).
It happened around the same time I changed my address to my current one, & there was a part payment of $7 rather than $10 as the last payment.
I didn't give them notice, SDRO didn't give them notice & now I've been driving around for who knows how long WITH NO LICENSE! Thank God I haven't been pulled over!
All sorted now, but wow. Thanks alot centrelink. Anyone who has any suggestions, feel free to let me know what possible reason they could have for doing this to me. If not, I'll call them on Monday & see what they can tell me.
No, I recieved a fine ages ago. I pay it off by centrepay to the SDRO (state debt recovery office) in NSW.
Cantrelink stopped the payments for no reason. SDRO would normally stop them when they are paid out, but it wasn't even close to paid.
SDRO applies restrictions via the RTA to your license &/or rego if they don't get their payments. They are the people fines go to if not paid within 21 days.
Centrelink don't control licensing, just the payments I was making.
