I put my forms in to c'link almost 3 weeks ago.
I rang last week sometime & was told it takes 10 - 14 working days to process. Today is 14 working days.
I was also told yesterday it can take up to 21 days. 21 days is Monday coming.
There is nothing showing on the site yet, so I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it could take longer than the 21 days?
I was told its taking a while to process at the moment. Is 21 days the limit?
I'm waiting for baby bonus & FTB. There's nothing showing changes to that yet either.
Kinda relying on it to catch up on rent & was hoping to make it to my Pop's 80th birthday next weekend, but without it we can't do either

It sure can! Baby bonus was the last thing on my mind when DS was born, It took me 3 month to realise I wasn't receiving payments. I contacted them only to be told that my application had been rejected as we were just within the threshold and that they needed additional information. I then had to provide our full financials for the 6 months post DS's birth which needed to be verified by our accountant. I finally started receiving payments just before DS's 1st Birthday.
Just be aware that if your initial application is rejected, they will not contact you. They will wait for you to contact them. I would give them a call on Tuesday to see where your application is at.
Unfortunately yes it can. When I applied for the Baby Bonus after DS was born I didn't start receiving payments for a couple of months. I haven't had any kind of payments before so that may be what the problem was, I don't know.
Hopefully your will start when they said it will though, and if it doesn't just give them a call. Good luck!
Sorry can't help you with FTB as I receive FTB at the end of the financial year once my tax has been submitted to avoid any possible overpayment. I would assume that they would process both at the same time.
the internal processing time standard for FTB and Baby Bonus new claims is 28 days. If the claim is rejected for whatever reason (e.g. further information required), you will be sent notification by mail. Generally, if there are more documents required to assess the claim, you will be issued with a letter giving you 14 days to supply the required documents. If you don't supply the documents within that 14 day timeframe, the claim is rejected.
If this is your first time claiming FTB, have you lodged the claim online and supplied the documentation you received from the hospital (yellow form, it does your medicare enrolment for bubs and has the dr's or midwives ceritification of the date of birth on the back)? There is a new process where all documentation is scanned at the office you lodge the documents at, and then is allocated to a processing team to assess the claim. Unfortunately there have been some issues with the new technology - I would call the call centre and request a 'callback' from the processing team.
