    Don't forget that your employer also needs to register and, after fao complete your claim, it can be held up pending your employer accepting payment and them making sure it fits their pay cycles for delivery

    briggsy - is it easier to just nominate that the FAO make the payments rather than your employer? or is that not allowed?

    there are limited situations in which you can opt for FAO to pay. if you're self employed (for obvious reasons), if you have totally ceased work with the employer, if you have been with them less than a year prior to bub being born.... otherwise, FAO and your employer are under obligation to administer it via employer payroll. you can tick the box for FAO to pay, but the application will be denied unless there are certain criteria met...
