just thought I'd let you know I lodged my documents and online claim on 1/12 an it was all processed and finalised as of 8/12...having said that, I opted to receive zero rate payments of FTB and nominated my Paid Parental Leave to start in July next year so that may have made it a quicker claim to process. Hope yours is almost done!!
still waiting for even a letter in the mail so I rang them just to see if maybe they didn't get the forms as I posted them 2 weeks ago she said they are there and it is being processed hope it comes soon! I make about a grand a week when I work and make more than my DF so having only one income is killing us! I didn't plan for bub to come so late! I have learnt my lesson now hope this fortnight it is processed
still not even a letter! rang them again to see if it was at least looked at and it is still being assessed, what needs assessing? I only work, have no investment properties or anything it was very straight foward! my son was born 22nd november and thats the date I nominated for it to start so when I get back pay it is going to be taxed SO much by my employer I am just considering going back to work instead as we can only survive until the end of the year on the money we have left. Just having a vent!
eutra - i did mine before you how did yours get done so fast! no one can get FTB while on PPL anyway so that shouldn't make it any faster anyway. I am glad it got done so quick for you though!
you CAN get FTB while getting PPL - you just get part A (if eligible) - part B is not payable for those 18 weeks
if it's been more than three weeks since you lodged the paperwork you can ask for FAO to do their part under hardship guildelines - but it will still mean FAO needing to wait on your employer to accept the payments and then make them for you...
if you go back to work, you lose entitlement to PPL...
