Paid parental leave?

So I will qualify for paid parental leave, I met with our payroll dept today and have th edates ect that I am required to submit to make my claim. I just tried to start my claim on line but came to a stop early on lol

I will (hoping) birth my baby in the next finiancial year (In Aug/sept) and am stuck at the first question........am I claiming for tis finiancial year or previous?

I dont know what to do as I guess the payment will fall under next year but there is no option for that. I would like to get my claim in and am happy to do it on line and dont want to be on the phone for hours.

any advise?

Can I also ask.....

I will have been back at work for 10 months when I intend to take mat leave, Im sure I read that you have to be working 10 mths to qualify. Ive been at my job 9 years so meet their requirments

you must have worked 10 of the previous 13 months, with no gap within that 13 months that exceeds 8 weeks
given you will only be back 10 months, you may not qualify, however having been employed long term, it may not be a problem. you can definitely apply and check eligibility. it is only specially trained processing staff that could confirm that one for you

apply for this year - they will automatically take into account the EDD and process it for the 12/13 year. all good there

Thank you so much for your reply BG. I just checked again and it's asking me if I'm due to give birth (or words of..) before 14/08/12. I'm due 31/08/12 so I guess I'm just a little too early to put my application in. Just have to wait a few weeks more.
