for your own tax return, i BELIEVE (please dont quote me!) that you can estimate your partners income - when it's confirmed, you can then amend it. if you're doing it online yourself, i'm not sure how it works - i would suggest putting yourself in the position of ringing ATO for verification though.

my understanding is that it has to be on there for things like medicare surcharge and things
