Thanks both of you. Specially on the 7 week processing tip. I'd assumed it'd be the general 21 - 28 days...
Oh well, therapy hasn't started yet & thats where it'll be needed.

TBH - I'm not sure my forms were in within the 14 days, since they didn't tell me that first time around & I had to start again But honestly, I don't care. Long as I can start getting something in the near future, coz it's only going to cover about half what I need... Something is always better than nothing

So much easier here than ringing, being on hold for an hour & having something go wrong needing to hang up!

YES! OOPS! *runs away and edits*
    tehehehehehe

Clover - it's easy for us to answer very generic stuff on here - so if generic info that is available online can be summarised here, and keep a couple of people off the phones or out of the office, we may as well do it!

Well, when handing in my doctor signed forms today, I asked again, & was told that because I wasn't actually recieving payments in the last financial year, I won't get the supplement. I should get back paid to May though.

So anyone else out there knows if they have a similar problem

if it is back paid to May, you WILL have been receiving payment in the previous financial year, which means you will be eligible for the supplement. all you need is to be current for the payment on JULY 1 (i'm pretty sure - maybe it's june 30! lol) - if it is granted with a start date on or before that date, you will get it

we're all trained in different areas - generally office staff are more trained in job seeker requirements, unless you have a specific aged and carer area as some of the bigger offices have

it's really hard to know everything about everything - knowledge tends to be more about what you're dealing with most frequently. over the phone, as much as i am mostly FAO trained, i have exposure to all queues so i see a bit of everything - and when it's busy, if i can find an answer to something straight forward without transferring someone, that is my preference. as a result, i tend to have a bit more general knowledge than people that have been on staff less time or aren't as confident reading up on stuff (or don't have a riduculous degree of retention like i tend to lol)

I thought that. I honestly did think I might have been asked to wait so I could speak to someone who did know/specialise in what I was asking.

Completely understandable though. I just do wish they didn't give definate answers when they don't know.

Question again. Centrelink appear to have DP's income amount, as in the total is there but not the breakdown of the total it comes up saying not available. Nor is anything there for me. I have told centrelink twice I am not lodging this year, and have lodged the form with the ATO. They have had the info for over a week, it was a pretty simple return this year. I just want to know either what i owe or am owed. Could really do with the money! Just slightly annoying that people who lodged days after me are getting their supplements already.

it would have told you on online services that you can't see the breakdown of your partners income due to privacy - so it gives you a total family income but not your partners actual breakdown

as for payment - chances are that you were actually too early to lodge all the info (yeah, i know - crazy - how could you be too early??) - if all the information for both you and your partner was received on or before the day your last payment for last year was generated for june 2011, then you will have to go through the bulk reconciliation process and payment should be generated along with your next ftb payment. this is what happened to me. my payment for ftb was generated on june 28 (paid on june 30, so i still had to be paid for june 29 and 30 - that payment wasn't generated until july 12. as the ATO were scarily quick this year (i lodged etax on july 11, it hit FAO july 12), my ftb reconciliation could not be updated when initially received, and has to be held until next tuesday when my next payment will be generated. had it taken 48 hours for ATO to speak to FAO instead of just 24, i would have been paid last week

Oh, ok then. So just to clarify nothing will happen till my next payment on Tuesday? I lodged tax returns on the exact same date as yours and it came up online the next day as well. Sorry if my post sounded a bit cheesed off.

most likely, nothing will happen until Tuesday the same as is happening with me. i know only too well how frustrating it is - my couches are in for collection and i have to wait for this to be able to collect them!

That's what I was going to say megs....

I know its a long wait, but if you are patient to wait on hold (but first happy to press redial a million times), then you can always call.....

I have to try and find time to call too - can never find my CAN for online services (if i knew how to, i'd insert a head banging smiley thing here )

I know about the CAN thing, I constantly forget the password then have to call to have it reset......very frustrating.

If you call early morning, wait times usually aren't too bad
They're better than they used to be!
