I thought that. I honestly did think I might have been asked to wait so I could speak to someone who did know/specialise in what I was asking.
Completely understandable though. I just do wish they didn't give definate answers when they don't know.

Question again. Centrelink appear to have DP's income amount, as in the total is there but not the breakdown of the total it comes up saying not available. Nor is anything there for me. I have told centrelink twice I am not lodging this year, and have lodged the form with the ATO. They have had the info for over a week, it was a pretty simple return this year. I just want to know either what i owe or am owed. Could really do with the money! Just slightly annoying that people who lodged days after me are getting their supplements already.
it would have told you on online services that you can't see the breakdown of your partners income due to privacy - so it gives you a total family income but not your partners actual breakdown
as for payment - chances are that you were actually too early to lodge all the info (yeah, i know - crazy - how could you be too early??) - if all the information for both you and your partner was received on or before the day your last payment for last year was generated for june 2011, then you will have to go through the bulk reconciliation process and payment should be generated along with your next ftb payment. this is what happened to me. my payment for ftb was generated on june 28 (paid on june 30, so i still had to be paid for june 29 and 30 - that payment wasn't generated until july 12. as the ATO were scarily quick this year (i lodged etax on july 11, it hit FAO july 12), my ftb reconciliation could not be updated when initially received, and has to be held until next tuesday when my next payment will be generated. had it taken 48 hours for ATO to speak to FAO instead of just 24, i would have been paid last week
Oh, ok then. So just to clarify nothing will happen till my next payment on Tuesday? I lodged tax returns on the exact same date as yours and it came up online the next day as well. Sorry if my post sounded a bit cheesed off.
most likely, nothing will happen until Tuesday the same as is happening with me. i know only too well how frustrating it is - my couches are in for collection and i have to wait for this to be able to collect them!
I could have fixed that for you BG hehehhe...........
Glad you have the patience to wait til next Tuesday.
i dont REALLY have the patience - but i don't have much choice! lol
That's what I was going to say megs....
I know its a long wait, but if you are patient to wait on hold (but first happy to press redial a million times), then you can always call.....
I have to try and find time to call too - can never find my CAN for online services (if i knew how to, i'd insert a head banging smiley thing here :))
I know about the CAN thing, I constantly forget the password then have to call to have it reset......very frustrating.
If you call early morning, wait times usually aren't too bad :)
They're better than they used to be!
i'm on the wrong end of the phone line early am!
staff line is 9-5, i work 7.50-5.20 so me calling is impossible for the moment
That staff line is a godsend. I didn't realise was only manned from 9am to 5pm, must call it tomorrow.
frustrating if you work those hours though
lucky customers get extended hours. staff don't lol
Isn't that what your lunch break is for
BG, when I go online I can see a payment amount scheduled for today, details come up as 'Arrears Payment of FTB part A supplement' - does this amount include the CCB rebate? or would that be labelled separately?
ccb will come seperately. the first ccb payments will srart hitting accounts tomorrow - could be a couple of weeks to get them all out...
No supplement for me today, will be calling later.
Thanks hun.
thanks BG for keeping us as updated as you can.
anyone that was expecting payment today - if you bank with WESTPAC - they had major system issues overnight and most payments didn't get delivered - they are being processed manually as quickly as possible
Hi, you seem very helpful and very knowledgeable with the Family Tax Supplement. I was wondering if you could help with some advice please? I rang centrelink and they advised I would get mine on or around the 27 July. Well it didn't show when I was logged in to the centrelink site so I rang them today and asked when it was due, he advised me that I would not get it as I separated it August 2010 and not a full financial year single. They said I need to wait until the ex does his tax, well he hasn't for a couple of years and I know he has not done last years and I received a arrears payment early July for the 2009/2010 supplement and he definitely has not done any tax. I have had three different answers from people at centrelink and in all honesty all they do is confuse me with yes and no's....One says I will get it, one says I will not and the other had no idea...
I would be grateful for any advice/ answers.. Thanks ...
Nic, if you haven't worked, you can ring (or go online) and notify you're not required to lodge. your income will be the income support payment you have received during the year (plus any interest from bank accounts etc) - you should have your details reconciled either now or in November. it will reconcile based on your most recent estimate for your ex partner. you won't be held to ransom long term for him not doing his taxes - but it may hold you up until November
I've got a stupid question BG. We've never been entitled to FTA or B before as I was working or on paid leave. This year we are on one wage. I did have income from our rental but our outgoing far exceed incomings so my income was a huge negative.
so,
1. How do I know if I'm an active customer?
If I log onto the website, I don't have enough security clearance to check anything. I don't fancy holding up a phone line to find out I need to go in there though.
2. Does the ATO send our stuff to FAO automatically or do I need to do something?
Thanks hun in advance.
Hey Hun,
Do we have an estimated time limit that they are taking to process tax/supplement... Ex did his tax two weeks ago, and I put mine in last week, should i be seeing anything online just yet, or does it take a while?
at this point, if you don't know if you're active, i'd assume you're not - the only way to confirm for sure is to call. you can wait on the line if you want to (ave wait is about 20 minutes) however, given you have access to your record online, you could just do a lump sum claim online. if you're active, you'll have the new claim rejected - but it won't cause any dramas. if you're not active, it will set you up for your claim
you won't have to do anything in terms of getting income to FAO - there is automatic data matching
to do the lump sum claim, you go to apply for a payment, make a claim, then choose the parent or guardian question set. choose ftb for previous year, and answer away!! (these are the REALLY simplified instructions - but it's pretty straight forward once you're in there)
ATO have said about 2 weeks to process most returns - it can then take a similar amount of time for FAO to receive it, and then a similar amount of time to issue it out. it is possible the income has been received and the result sent to ATO (before being sent to you) to ensure you don't owe anything. have you just been checking what you are to be paid, or have you checked the income estimate history (if you flick to the previous year, it will tell you the actual income if it's been received)
don't go into the office! offices are short staffed, and they will put you on the phone to ring a FAO consultant - make a coffee, grab a chocolate biscuit (ok, maybe a packet!), a magazine or good book, and ring FAO to have yourself registered as a non lodger. i am making a HUGE assumption that you have only received payment from centrelink - sorry if that's rude! - if you've had other income you may need to lodge a tax return. also if you haven't had income support for the whole year (parenting, newstart etc) you may need to lodge a tax return.
Ah thanks for that, I was just checking the 'paid' but did just have a squiz at the income history and nothing has been recieved yet.
Cheers BG :D will do.
I was wondering if this is what you meant but online ?
I might have to ring, I am so lost lol....
yes, that bit
you better delete the pic though hun - they're a no go!
if you're not sure how to do it, give FAO a call - but make sure you have a cuppa and a biscuit - it may take a while!
Ok so I have got my tax refund back and it was the amount i was execting but there is nothing showing on my online services as to whether I get a supp payment or not. am i missing the spot where it tells me or is it on the first screen where it has the regular payment and stuff.
Kylz, as far as I know it doesn't show up til 2 days before its due to go into your bank account. Once its been processed. Weather or not it should've been processed by now I couldn't tell you :)
Thanks S
has your DH done his tax?
both results are required
it may take a few days for your result to be processed
essentially fao gets the ato result
sends your result to ato to see if you owe money
ato send back to fao
fao issue payment
it CAN take up to 28 days - it hasn't been - but it can
BG, if DH has a tex debt (hecs fees) that wont come out of my FTB supplements will it?
nope!
it will take tax debts for YOU, but not for him
thanks. the FTB sups will be used to pay his hecs debt anyway but just wasn't sure what to expect.
then i'd guess your payment is between ATO and FAO at the moment and will be paid to you as soon as it is cleared.
