it also depends on where your incomes fell on the "spectrum" - as there comes a point, for ftba only, where it "plateaus" - for about 20k - so even if you have underestimated, it may not be as scary bad as it seems
worst case scenario, if you said you have no income at all, and you were below the plateau for ftba, you may have to pay back as much as 400 for every 1000 - but it really does depend on where you were on the estimate spectrum.
if you were receiving ftbb, you can pretty much assume you have to pay all you received back
ftba would be 200 for every 1000 up until you reach plateau point
and maybe rent assistance if you got any
I got a debt in the end but only $120. do I call if I want to pay it off BG

yes, call up - if you don't, a percentage (fairly high) will be taken out of each payment until it's paid off. if you ring you can negotiate a reasonable amount to pay Kylz
I overestimated by 18000 but only getting $726 in my FTB recon - the supp alone is $700 isn't it, so im a little lost!!
I won't complain as its' not a debt i think it's just not what i was expecting!!
My supp and recon gets paid thurs so i wonder how long our tax will take now. think we just bought a new fridge and it would be good to have the buffer back
DH had his tax done last night, how long should i wait til i ring FAO for reco?
Olive I submitted our tax Fri 12th
I got our CCR/CCB recon Thu 18th and am getting Supp/FTB recon this Thurs 25th.
If that helps!
I think it's 14 days before calling generally.
i mean to tell them i dont have to lodge or can i do it at anytime??
thanks hun! thats quick too!
Anytime olive
Dragon. Ftba supp is 726. You should get letter explaining payment. It nay be that your overestimate put you into the plateau I mentioned to trav. If so you may not have been underpaid each fortnight at all
BG, I have no working pc at the moment, so can't look up...
I assume though that unpaid carers allowance aren't entitled to supp payment?
Just curious :)

Clover I could be wrong but I actually thought if you got carers allowance there was more supp payment stuff?
ETA- Yeah, if you receive a carer allowance you will receive up to $600
here is the link if you are able to open it http://www.centrelink.gov.au/interne.../ssp_carer.htm
Thanks BG - i was going off by what the difference in the estimator was online - about $400 for the year.
So at 90K we may have gotten X but at 75K we may have gotten $400 more over the course of the year - Anyway no big deal, i'll wait for the letters too!
Thanks xx
I was previously getting FTB, which adjusted down to nothing when I went back to work, now I am not working again do I have to claim for it again or will they work it out automatically, I have submitted last years tax return and done the income estimate for this year (on income def eligible) and getting baby bonus but have not seen any letter about FTB yet. I had underestimated income last year and they have subtracted over from what due back from ATO, if that makes any difference.
you may need to check that you are current (on nil rate) not cancelled. if you are current on nil rate, you can update your estimate to reflect what it should be, and you should start getting paid again. if you were cancelled when you returned to work, you'll need to do a new claim
Clover - if you got carer allowance with a HCC ONLY (so no actual payment) you won't get the carer supplement. well, i don't believe you will. i'm pretty sure it is only paid to those getting the $110 per fortnight, not the Carers who get a HCC for caree but no actual money
That's what I was thinking. I am appealing the decision soon as I can get the forms done properly. They made me think I had 13 weeks, but I was rejected for ds coz paper work wasn't in within 6 weeks. Anyway we'll see.
Thanks :)
Efjay- I don't receive a payment, just dd's HCC. So didn't think I would. & I am current for allowance, not carers payment... they recieve the $600 from memory.
Confusing much ;)

Thanks BG, I don't think I was cancelled - will ring up and check all is in order.
:bump:
thought i'd bump this thread given reco will be starting in the next month or so - lots of info was covered here - i will eventually get around to putting links to info on human services website in a similar thread for a sticky if the mods can arrange it, but thought i'd get this up and going now cos so many q's are answered in here already!
BG so sorry to hound you with more q's but I was wondering if I can ask a quick one. Last year I wasn't active on the FAO site as I have our payments reconcilied at the end of the financial year so I had to a lump sum claim.
This year I am also having it reconcilied but I am receiving the paid parental leave payments. So will I have to do the lump sum claim again or will it be automoatically reconciled as I am an active client?
TIA
if you are ftb current at nil rate (you would be able to see this on online services - on payment history it will have the fortnightly payment dates with 0.00 as the amount aid) - then no, you won't have to do anything - it will happen automatically. you will still need to notify if you're not required to lodge a tax return
Hi Briggsy, you are still being the superstar doing this! I just have a quick question. I've already sent my non-lodgement to the ATO and they would have received it the first week of July and I have already told centrelink I do not need to lodge, when do the supplements start to go out to bank accounts? Am I likely to see it this month or do I have to wait until August?
We did DH's tax return last Thursday. I advised of my non lodgement online on Friday, and we had a very pleasant sunrise in the bank account this morning :)
Certainly can't complain about that wait time
I wonder what my holdup is then?
LMS, if you've been on PPS all year last year, you should get your payment in the next couple of weeks (bulk reco starts next week) - there is always a delay waiting on child support data. there is also a delay if you update the non-lodgement details before you receive your last payment for june (for me, for instance - i didn't get my last payment for june until yesterday as there were three days of june in the last payment fortnight). bulk reco is from mid to late july
Ahhh so maybe CSA is the holdup, that makes sense, they are always holding up things in my life. I'm just hoping I can stay afloat while I wait. I just sort of got smashed with everything in the last few weeks.
yeah, know that feeling! i know the process and am still frustrated cos i'm crook, DH is crook, and we're struggling for the moment!
Well fingers crossed we both get a speedy arrival. My next pay is the 18th but nothing shows up on the website yet!
Just a quick question - I got my tax refund yesterday but my income isn't showing yet on Centrelink *confused*
Is this anything to worry about?
no, not at all - it can take up to 28 days for information to be transferred from one department to the other.
Oh great - thank you :). Wasn't looking forward to spending ages on hold to tell them my figures!!
the information can't be accepted from you anyway -has to come from ATO - once you've had your notice of assessment (NOA) from ATO for a month, if supplements still haven't been paid, ring FAO - have your NOA with you cos details are needed from that
LMS - supplement payments will show up on your online services only two days before they hit your account - so even if it is going to pay on the 18th (no promises) it won't show til the 16th
I have recieved my Supplement... But it doesn't say that I got the Child Rebate, does this come at the same time?
No. Ccb/ccr reco has started paying as of tomorrow. Anyone who has already received ftb reco will be paid ccb/ccr at some point in the next couple of weeks
Ok cool thank you...
Hi,
I did DH's tax very early on in July and we received his return on july 10, pretty much immediately after that from memory we could see his yearly actual wage was updated on online services but we still havent received any payments and nothing is showing up...I went to do the non adviseement before the end of the financial year and again after and each time it says i dont have to do it and have already advised them, is this all normal or should I call?
I would probably wait a week. If it isn't showing by the end of next week then call.

I got that message about having already done the non lodgement thing too. I knew I hadn't done it previously, so just followed the options to do it again.
i think i'd previous did it for future years as im not working? i tried and it said the same thing so i said continue and redid it just in case thanks
Hey BG
If both partners have tax refunds back when should they expect to see any lump sums and what is it? Have over estimated by 12k
Kudos to Centrelink who have already paid my supps when we only got DH's tax done on Friday night! Will come in very handy this week.
