hehe - I'm sure the packers wouldn't be taking my tax either

But the whole idea is for it to be spent. Anyone is able to do that. In fact a rich person would probably see $1000 as pocket change and spend it in an instant! I just think it's dumb that you have to be eligible for this payment.

Maybe it should have been done in the form of vouchers so it HAD to be spent. Bit like the $200 voucher thingo for registering for GST. You had to go and spend it, it wasn't just a cash handout.

I reckon if they had of done it in vouchers probably only the bigger companies would have received the money where as being cash smaller companies/business will receive some of it too

is anyone having trouble logging on to the family assist website?

My next FTB payment isn't due until Monday the 15th but the c/link site says my "xmas bonus" is going in this Wednesday the 10th, so you may all get it earlier than you think!!

Aha Maz you crack me up! Your such a caring person to think about others when doing something for yourself also

Getting a new big boy bed for Ds2. The rest shall be put away until we can decide what to do with it - most likely new tyres on Dhs car (desperately needed).

And actually it is discrimination. Against those who don't have children, and those that earn more than others.
discrimination: to make a distinction in favor of or against a person or thing on the basis of the group, class, or category to which the person or thing belongs rather than according to actual merit; show partiality
Very true Liz. I know that for us, even a little bit of extra money would come in handy, we may not have kids yet (one on the way!!), but we pay our taxes as well... And at the moment we are pretty much living off my income, which being on a traineeship is not much more than $300/week, DF has his own business but at the moment is not drawing a wage from it as there is just no money there to take!

So yeah, we are struggling at the moment with money, I don't see why we should be "discriminated" against just because we are young and don't have kids yet, we still have all the same bills and our income at the moment is a pittance... JMO

A few years ago when I looked into it, if you've had a c/s or lost a dramatic amount of weight then you are entitled to a rebate on some plastic surgery (ie. tummy tuck & boob lift) Dunno if this still applies though!

    Sorry to be OT

$2000 of our $3000 will be going onto a new car, $500 of the left over $1000 that will we have will be paying for insurance of said new car. $150 of the remaining $500 will finish the xmas shopping (well if you can call giving cash shopping LOL), and the remaining $350 will sit in our bank account.
