If the parent that is receieving the monies.. requests it and child is going through uni after leaving school, payments can still be paid (you can be made to continue paying)

I got about 1500 CSA letters saying nothing over the past few months, it didn't indicate either way what happens.

Just lining my ducks up in a row before I make contact with the a$$hole I havent seen for 15 years....

    Hey there,

Punkin is right, 18 yo (or end of school year whichever is the later) unless child in question leaves school to pursue paid employment past age 16 then it ceases in certain circumstances.

If you require support for the child beyond 18 yo or schooling, whichever later, you need to seek an order from the Family Court for adult child maintenance. Generally speaking you have to prove that 1. Your or your child needs $ assistance and 2. that dad has capacity to pay.

Once the order is made you can give a copy of the CSA and ask them to collect it for you. So in a way Katones is right too.

You would need to get advice from a soli about your prospects of succeeding in court for an order for adult child maintenance.

    Good luck.

Well I've got diddly squat from him all these years, apart from one year that he worked in his wifes fathers business (and the father arranged for his wage to be garnished I hear on the grapevine).

I've had to look for him now as she would like to meet said a-hole, I plan on it being all about her, not bringing past issues up.

I've asked for nothing in all this time, but she needs $6000 of dental surgery and orthodontic work over the next 2 years and trust me - he is going to help pay for it. In tracking him down I have learnt he has a business. I was wondering if he would start to actually declare it if he thought he didn't have to pay anymore .
