Not really sure what I am asking here!
When would Centrelink ask us to provide payslips etc to prove our eligibility for the Maternity Payment (Baby Bonus)?
I was told months ago they do all that after end of financial year, it's now October. So can I assume we can keep the $5000?
We originally weren't sure what DH's wage was going to be due to overtime etc and have kept it aside just in case we were required to pay it back, but am a bit scared to spend it now! Would kind of like someone to ring me up and say "Hey, it's all yours!"
Really hard to say as we don't know all your details. I'd gice Centrelink a call and ask. That way you'll know one way or the other for sure. Fingers crossed it's all yours.
Lol yeah I know, too scared to call in case they say "well, since you're concerned..."
I'm pretty sure we'll be right. We didn't earn as much as we estimated, so well under the threshold anyway. It would just be a hassle to get all DH's payslips, seeing he never even gets them!
Have to call later this week about my FTB payment so may mention it then, if I'm feeling brave enough!
When we applied I had to go and show all that before they'd even consider it, so I reckon that they would have asked for it by now. DS was over 6months old before mine started getting paid.
Since last financial year is over you can check anyway that your DH didn't earn over the threshold as the info is all on the website isn't it?
Yeah you're right Kim, he didn't earn over the threshold. I don't know what I'm worried about!
I think we've just been holding onto it for so long now, it seems weird to think of it as ours ITMS.
If you have done your DH's tax return then you won't need to provide payslips, they will be able to see how much he earned using that. They wouldn't have paid you the money if you weren't entitled to it. Happy spending!
