I don't have an image to post at the moment, but I can get one if needed.
Just a bit confused... I had a normal chart, temp was low, then dropped and then went up, the way you would expect when ovulating. All was good and as expected.
Then on 6 dpo, the temp dropped back down and was on the coverline. I didn't think anything of it, but then today (7 dpo) it has dropped below the coverline and is now at a pre-ovulation temp. It was rather chilly last night, but I wasn't cold so surely that wouldn't affect it?
I don't get it?
(Very unlikely that I am pregnant btw, as we had sex 10-11 days before ovulation, and we are not trying this month so haven't done it again)
Temp is still low today, and I started spotting just a little bit last night and it has continued today. It's like I'm getting my period, but I'm only 8 dpo??

i would hazard that it could be AF arriving...especially if you dont think the BD timing was right for egg catching...cause then i would think it could be implantation...
hopefully the next two days give some answers to you...i totally understand the frustration
I think maybe I ovulated on April 2, when I had EWCM, even tho my temp didn't change until later. It would make more sense, because then I would be expected my period around this time...
But why wouldn't my temp change until a week later? I don't get it...
hhmmm i think i would be more inclined to go with the temps. simply because you can get ewcm even without ovulation, whereas a temp shift is more reliable in guaging whether an eggie has been released if that makes sense.
how long are your cycles normally? and how long is your usual luteal phase? i ask because like you i used to always have late ovulation (CD17-19) and had to work really hard to ensure that i was getting the multivitamins right for that time...found that it helped with EWCM...which is handy if, like me, you have a short-ish LP (mine was 10-12 days).
i hope i havent made this more confusing for you lol! i only just realised that it is a late O and wanted to double check to see if this is normal for you, or just a strange cycle IYKWIM.
I have been on the pill for years, and this is my first month off it for about 5 years. Back in 2005 I charted for a few months and had textbook cycles. They were about 31-32 days then, and I had a normal luteal phase, so I'm guessing this is just a weird cycle then. Especially with just coming off the pill and have a m/c in March...
Btw, sore nipples started after the EWCM, and I also had quite bad ovulation pain around that time, which was what made me think that might be the actual ovulation, so I was quite surprised that the temp didn't go up the next day.
Kinda strange to get pms symptoms before ovulation isn't it?
yeah, your other symptoms do indicate a post O kinda thang. oooh how frustrating for you! i'd be hazarding that being the first cycle off pill and with a recent m/c that your body is still adjusting, so the charts will look strange.
All i can really recommend is that you keep doing what you are doing and follow your own body signs (ie ovulation pain, CM, increased sex drive etc) and compliment this with what you are seeing on the charts and in your temps. that way, if there is a discrepency between when you think you Od and what the chart is telling you, there is a good chance you are covered in terms of timing in both instances (this is what we had to do recently to get our BFP...FF had actually told me that there was no detected ovulation but i knew i had because i had the O pains and ewcm....).
Also, i reckon that if you are experiencing conflict with the FF O date, try switching to 'research' mode (instead of 'advanced'). this is what i did when it told me i hadnt Od...and bingo, it gave me a date...i find that it can be a helpful tool if you are worried.
Hi Julie, just thought I'd mention that most sites dealing with O and cycles in general will tell you that the temp rise will usually come up to 72 hours post O, eg anywhere from the day of O to 3 days post O.
By looking at your chart I would say you O'd between CD14 and CD15, making you 12-13dpo today. The spotting is probably just your period coming early, I have had that happen on 12dpo before as well back in early Feb, 1st cycle after a Chemical pregnancy.
I also had a mc in early March, and thought I was UTD this month, had my usual O cramping between CD15-16 and a temp rise on CD17, then my temps were really low (mostly below the coverline) and went up and down until what I thought was 10DPO (the day before I had some cramping pain for 10-15mins exactly 2 inches below my bellybutton, thought it might be implantation), had all the symptoms of being preg from what I thought was 3dpo onwards, got worse after 9dpo, but still no AF and had a big temp drop this morning and a BFN on a test (I'd be 18dpo today if I O'd on CD16 like I thought I did), so I don't really know what to think at the moment, my whole cycle has been messed up by the mc in march.
I hope you get some answers soon though.
FF originally said that I ovulated on the 5th, but changed its mind to the 7th after I put the temp in today. Dunno why...
I am sure af will arrive tomorrow, as I am still spotting, and it has increased during the day.
Thanks for your help I'm sure next month will be better. When I used to chart back in 2005 everything was very predictable and never had any problems interpreting anything.. Those were the days...
Still as confused as ever. Temp is even lower today, but still no sign of af. I check cm internally yesterday and there was a drop of fresh blood, when I checked this morning there was just brownish/greyish stuff (sorry). When I woke up my stomach also started churning and I felt really sick, which is how morning sickness started for me last time. Not sure what to think at the moment, as it seems very unlikely that I could be pregnant, altho theoretically possible.
like the others have mentioned it can take a bit for the body to readjust post pill...bring on the next cycle is all i can say!!!! at least now you have a good chart to compare with for the coming cycle and you can see if there is a pattern etc developing.
