Ok. I have a question. Well a few about this.
First one, if you DTD lots of times, is there less and less sperm in each one? lol. Like do they run out. I'm not temping so I don't know exactly the day I'm going to O, so we pretty much just keep on DTD for a few days when I think it is, well starting a bit before that. Soooo........what if I start too early, by the time I O will there be less spermies in the semen?? lol, I'm paranoid now, I seriously need a life if this is all I have to worry about! haha. I remember when I went for the pre-conception check-up the doctor said have sex around day 14 if you have a 28 day cycle etc etc which I know, but also said not to have sex for a few days before that. So it's her fault I'm worrying about this now!!

Also, seriously, how do any spermies ever make it up there???? It seems like it all just comes out again afterwards!!! Any ideas about what to do about that, do ppl know something I don't?

Ok well thanks to anyone who answers this was probably a little TMI for you all but I need to know. Have been wondering for a while and was hoping someone else would ask so I didn't have to, lol!!!!

Okey dokey here we go a little semen lesson for you....

It takes around 36 hours for the amount of sperm to build back up in the semen which is why is recommended to DTD every second day. However if you do every day it's not going to hurt, DH won't run out of sperm from DTD too much, there will be less yes, but he won't run out.

As for the leakage, gross as it is there's no harm. Basically all that comes out is the seminal fluid plus a few spermies. Most of the sperm jump out & hitch a ride on your CM. EWCM is the best for them, easiest for them to get to where they are going. Other CM is ok, but harder for them to get through.

First of all sperm usually last about 48-72hrs once they have been ejaculated, in each ejaculation there is usually hundreds of thousands of sperm, some does stay there even tho most comes back out, the cervix usually sucks the sperm up from the pool that is left. If you DTD to many times in one day the quality usually dimishes somewhat because of more immature sperm been sent out, so it could be a good idea to DTD every second day so that they can mature and top up your supply, lol.

I think read somewhere they the sperm rejuvinate every few days, but i could be totally wrong about that one.

also after you DTD, put a pilow under your bum or keep your legs up for about 15mins to let the spermies work their way up into your cervix, otherwise they can just all come out lol.

From personal experience, I tried the pillow under the bum thing. Dh thought I was a bit bonkers, but a lot less fluid came out than usual when I got up. Having said that..it did all come out about an hour later. I figure it's all good though. More time in there can't hurt, and might give a few more sperm a chance to hitch their ride!

Just thought I'd let you know that my DF & I conceived last cycle (early m/c again unfortunately) and we had BD'd daily from day 7-11 and every second day after that. I O'd on day 12 which was a day we didn't BD.

I am in the habit of lying in bed for about 15 minutes after BD before going to the loo as I don't want to risk a UTI and the spermies still made there way up there without any EWCM at all. I don't bother with a pillow or anything, tried that years ago and it never helped. I had been taking evening primrose oil to help them on their journey and it sure worked.
