    Question ovulation

This has probably been asked before, but before having ds I had a spot-on 28day cycle. Since having ds, it's 21days and I can't work out when would be the best time to dtd (or not dtd!)

From what I was aware, a 28day cycle, ovulation was around day 14 (with day 1 being the first day of AF). But I have no idea now that it's a 21day cycle.

We're not ttc atm - in fact dh says no to any more kids, that this one is enough! - but I intend to eventually wear him down! (maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow!)

How can I work out when ovulation (or the best time to conceive) is with this cycle??

    Thanks so much girls!

    Hi there,
I also have a 28-29 day cycle and always assumed I ovulated on day 14 or 15. This month I am giving a digital ovulation thingie a go (it's clearblue brand - not cheap!). This thing tells you when your surge happens and then you basically ovulate within 24 hours. So far I haven't ovulated yet (I'm on CD13) but I hope to in a day or two. It will be interesting to actually find out when I actually O as I have read on Belly recently that for someone with a 28 day cycle doesn't neccessarily mean they will ovulate on CD14.
You can buy cheaper ovulation tests but this one was recommended to me by a friend. You can also chart your cycle to find out when the temp goes up but when I was charting my cycles I got confused mast of the time and didn't know exactly when I ovulated. Good luck hun!!

One of my fertility books says that over 60% of women O outside days 14-17.

The Maybe Baby is a mini microscope that lets you look at your saliva to tell you when you're about to ovulate. There's also POAS ovulation kits (which never ever worked for me) There's also the BBT charting method, but if your partner's not into having another one (yet!) he probably wouldnt be all that keen on having you take your temp every morning before you get out of bed! The other idea is just to check your natural fertility symptoms, like cervical mucus and cervical position, and it's a lot easier than you think. If you check out Fertility Friend, their beginners tutorial will give you all the info you need.

    Good luck!

hi girl i haven't really been on the TTC but i was aware of fertility in my cycle before getting pregnant both times and the first time i knew it was the ovulation day the rest is history ...........................you can go for ovulation calculator to find out which days you are most likely to ovulate on or go for OPK's ovulation predictor kits

You can also use this method (as well as charting your cervical fluid (CF) when avoiding conception, so you know your safe days for DTD.
So if you explain that to DH then he probably won't mind, and when it comes to the time you might be TTC you'll already have the hang of the charting and be off to a good start.

    Good luck
