I waited until 17DPO because I knew I would be heartbroken by a BFN as we were actively TTC. It came up positive and DD was born in August 2009.

I always tested a day or two before AF was due, and always got a negative. I never got a positive until at least 3 days after Af should have arrived (even with early pregnancy tests).
I admire your restraint though. The only time I managed not to test until late was with the twins, and that was more because I felt so pregnant a test was not needed apart from getting my referral to the midwife from my GP.
Well, yeah, I do understand - I always figure I'll wait till the day after my longest cycle, but I never get there.
HPTs just seem to trigger af anyway.
16DPO today & the only time I have ever gotten that far is when I've been pregnant. Can I dare to imagine it's possible even though we have around a 1% chance of falling pregnant naturally?
Dare! Dare!

What Marcellus said! And good luck.
I have been tempted to test, but there aren't any in the house at the moment & I don't want to bother going out to the chemist or supermarket just for a HPT. I have to get some groceries by the end of the week, so it can wait. I mean if it's positive it still will be in a few days, if AF is going to show then I won't be wasting my money.
I am starting to imagine the possibility, my husband would be absolutely thrilled, he's been wanting a third for a long time. I'm just scared at the moment of the potential issues at the end of a pregnancy, ie deciding to go for a VBA2C or an elective C/S though, why should I even be thinking about that yet it would be a long way off!
I dared to believe it & guess what? It's time to change my ticker! Thanks ladies for allyour support & advice!!
