Can anyone help me?......It's our first month 'trying' & I'm confused!!
Just wondering how long everyone else has EWCM for leading up to and at O time and if you have EWCM for more than one day how do you predict when O day is?
I appear to have had slight EWCM on the 20th, definate EWCM the 21st, none on 22nd and then what appeared to be EWCM again on 23rd - quite alot.
I realise it is hard to distinguish EWCM to semen, and seeing as we BD'ed on the 22nd, is it likely to have been the run-off of semen that I saw the next afternoon? Usually it comes straight back out when I go to the loo after DTD IYKWIM, or latest first thing in the morning....sorry if TMI!
It's our first month of trying and recording CM etc, so am not quite sure, but am thinking I O'ed on the 21st?
I bought a Ovuclear but never saw anything but dots so that hasn't helped me either Started temping (orally) on CD15 (Wed) and temps so far have been 36.2, 36.2, 36.1, 36.3 & 36.1 this morning. Are these temps quite low or normal?
Have BDed on CD11,13,15 & 16 (Sat 17th, Mon 19th, Wed 21st & Thur 22nd) so do you think this is enough to 'catch the egg'?
Also felt a little nauseous yesterday but that may have been the heat playing tricks on me as I would only be 3DPO if my calculations are correct. I don't think it will happen straight away for us in our first month of trying so I don't want to get ahead of myself!
Any advice is greatly appreciated so I can be ready for next month
You can have this several times throughout your cycle...mostly during O time, but I also found it would happen after O as well...EWCM is a secondary fertility sign...so it can't be truly relied on as the main indication of O
Re. Temps
Everyone has different temps...so it's hard to tell whether yours are normal, low or high...my temps weren't always the same from cycle to cycle...some cycles they seemed higher than others...for no apparent reason...it's all about the pattern, not the specific temps...
Re. BD-ing
You've certainly increased your chances by the amount of Bd-ing...well done! It does all depend, though on when you O'd. From what I understand, the best chances of conception are 2 days before O, O day, and 1 day after...I think O-1 and O day are the absolute best!
Remember...even if you BD on the exact days, each cycle has a 25% of conception...so don't put too much pressure on yourselves...I think the stats are 80% of people fall pregnant within the 1st year of trying...so it might take a few cycles...
I found on-line charting through Fertility Friend to be fantastic...you can sign up for a 30 day free trial...it has an on-line tutorial that you can do, that teaches you all about fertility signs, O, the time for BD-ing, etc.
Wishing you all the best...and enjoy your TTC journey...hope it's short and sweet!
I can sometimes see EWCM on and off for up to a week before O. The general rule is that O day would be the LAST day that you see it. Generally it disappears very quickly after ovulation, usually within 12-24 hours. It is possible that what you saw after your estimated O day was semen, there is a way to test but a bit gross....drop some in a glass of water. EWCM will form a ball, semen won't. Mightn't hurt to try that to help learn the difference. So there you go As monnie said it is a secondary sign and it's much more accurate when taken in conjunction with temps.
Looking at your temps - for me those temps would be pre-ovulation. Mine are usually low 36's before O and high 36's/low 37's after. I'm thinking that considering your temps and the fact that your still seeing some EW you may not have O'd yet. But since it's your first month charting it's a bit hard to say because you don't yet know what range of temps is normal for you. I guess all I can say is hang in there because after a few months charting you will see patterns emerging and things will get much much easier.
As far as the BD'ing goes, keep doing it right up until you see your temps rise, AND the EWCM has gone.
Definitely sign up at Fertility friend, it's great charting software that is really helpful when you're learning.
Good luck and hope to see that bfp soon!
