Hi there,
My DD is just 3 and has been toilet trained for about a month. She is at kindy (long day care) 3 days a week. My eldest DD went to a kindy where the toilets were in the main room in like a glass cage (if that makes sense) so the teachers could always see them.
My issue is, at DD2's kindy, the toilets are out the door down a ramp and no one can see them from the inside or outside. And they are allowed to go by themselves. The prob is, DD is only just 3, she takes all her clothes off to go (and they sit on the floor of the toilet....) and then she pulls a chain, looks in the loo and then gives her hands a brief wash without soap, IF she thinks of it (I watched her the other day).
Should I be concerned? Im actually quite worried having her in there on her own. It's slippery and unhygenic (as i guess they can be with 6 toilets in one room) and the other day I caught a 2 year old playing in the loo's with her hand in a toilet.
I have said I'd prefer someone go with her, but they say she is allowed go alone. THey dont know when the kids have gone, what if they fall over or something, they wouldn't know for ages.
Am I over reacting? apart from this I love the kindy. i just dont know what to do.
Many thanks ox
