I think it is fine for them to have their ideologies but that if you feel developmentally she needs someone to go with her then they should respect that. I think you should put it to them again. Make it clear that it isn't negotiable because of all of your reasons. Include most importantly safety reasons as they will have to listen to those concerns. I think you are justified with your concerns. Perhaps they dont realise how strongly you feel
