Thankyou Mother Goose for your feedback. Whilst Eltham is probably not all that convenient for me and my wife it may be helpful to others looking for a childcare centre in that area. I'm glad to hear your daughter is enjoying childcare. I know it's going to be a nerve racking time when my son eventually starts. Unfortunately we don't have too much choice with interest rates going crazy lately.

    Thanks Again

    How'd you go?

    Hi,
How did you go finding childcare? Also, with the whole ABC saga, do you know if the Eltham centre is still good??
I'm looking for care somewhere not too far from/between Heidelberg & Surrey Hills area.

    Any suggestions?

Yes Eltham is still good. The carers haven't changed. It is still the same. My daughter goes there and loves it. She still calls the carers from the baby room "Aunty" and we get one of the girls from her current room to baby sit when we need it (we have no family here). I can't speak highly enough of this centre.

    Hi d2b,

I lived in Doncaster at the time I did a student prac, in about 2006, so visited a lot of centres in the area to check them out.
The one on Turana St is pretty good, worth a look.
If you can stretch to Box Hill, I highly recommend Central Box Hill Children's Services Centre, but only if you want care in 2011 or later, I imagine their waiting list would be massive.
Watts St in Box Hill is also good.

Also check out Manningham council FDC.
